A Serbian heart doctor appears to have set a few pulses racing after winning a medal in a bikini competition.

一名塞爾維亞心臟科醫師，在一場比基尼比賽中贏得獎牌後，顯然讓人有些血脈僨張。

Trainee cardiologist Maja Pavlovic, 23, reportedly won the medal in the European leg of the Women’s Bikini Fitness Contest in Spain.

據稱23歲的心臟科實習醫生瑪雅．帕夫洛維奇，贏得在西班牙舉行的女子比基尼健美比賽歐洲站賽事。

Ms Pavlovic is currently in her fifth and final year of medical school in the central Serbian town of Kragujevac and is now practising on patients as part of her final exams.

Not content however with being a medical student and a beauty contestant, Ms Pavlovic is also a politician for the ruling Socialist Party of Serbia （SPS）.

She was elected as a councillor in her home city of Cacak in southern Serbia, and says she hopes to develop her political career alongside her work in medicine.

A hospital in the French city of Clermont-Ferrand is to open a wine bar where terminally ill patients will be able to enjoy a "medically-supervised" glass or two with their families.

法國克雷蒙─費弘市的一家醫院將開設一間酒吧，讓末期病患能夠與家人在「醫療性監督下」小酌一、兩杯。

"Why should we refuse the charms of the soil to those at the end of their lives? Nothing justifies such an prohibition," the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital Center said in statement. The center’s head, Dr. Virginie Guastella, said terminally ill patients had the right to "enjoy themselves".

The bar will be the first in France to offer such a facility for patients and their families. Staff will be specially trained before it opens in the hospital’s palliative care center in September.

"Medically supervised tastings will help brighten what is often a difficult daily life," the hospital said.

Two centuries after the French people beheaded King Louis XVI and dipped their handkerchiefs in his blood, DNA analysis has thrown new doubt on the authenticity of one such rag kept as a morbid souvenir.

The contents of an ornately-decorated gourd alleged to hold traces of the king’s dried blood has long been the subject of scientific disagreement, with tests throwing up contradictory results.

On Thursday, a team from Europe and the United States said they had sequenced the full genome of the DNA, and found it was unlikely to be from someone tall or blue-eyed -- both features ascribed to the 18th century monarch.
