這兩天打開電視，首先映入眼簾的國際新聞，除了伊波拉病毒的蔓延外，就是喜劇巨星
羅賓威廉斯 （Robin Williams）猝死的訊息。目前暫定的死因為窒息自殺，這馬上讓我聯想到不久前中天主播
史哲維 的惡訊。
兩位在螢光幕前都給人正面、積極、樂觀的氛圍，沒人懷疑他倆背後均藏有憂鬱症的歷史。再者，兩位都採窒息式的自殺手法，可見死意堅決。但與其花過多時間追究死因，我想回憶羅賓威廉斯活著時，帶給我的體驗。
記得1990年初到美國讀書時，HBO正播著以慈善為目的的喜劇系列——Comic Relief。威廉斯是固定班底，發覺這位好像得了過動症的演員真是礙眼，整個舞台跳上跳下，嘴巴還可動個不停。
當時搭配主持的
比利克里斯托 （Billy Crystal）與
琥碧戈柏 （Whoopi Goldberg），兩位的喜感較為收斂，尤其是克里斯托，他喜好走冷淡的嘲諷路線。來自東方國土的我，當時還是比較吃這味。
但尚未熟悉
金凱瑞 的1990年代初期，威廉斯的過動喜感，著實讓觀眾感到不安。不久後在錄影帶店中，突然看到一位長得很像威廉斯的演員，被一群學生高舉著的電影海報，這部片名為“Dead Poets Society”，台灣翻為
《春風化雨》 。
很多人將這部電影與金凱瑞的
《楚門世界》 做對比，當人們以為兩位過動的喜劇泰斗，無法轉型成認真的演員時，於是就用這兩部證明觀眾目光過於短淺。人內心之豐富，很難被外在標籤界定。
威廉斯一反好動的個性，在《春風化雨》將自己化為一位挑戰保守體制的英文老師。但他的挑戰不具對抗性，也不是個好鬥的麻煩製造者，而是如美國哲人
愛默生（Emerson）所云：
「若想成為自己，必須作個不妥協之人」那類灑脫感。
這部戲的背景是在一所專門培育國家棟樑的寄宿學校，威廉斯帶領這群高中生在保守、傳統的私校中，進行思想解放。其中一段最令我回味的橋段是，威廉斯要學生將英文課本中，衡量詩句價值的測量表給整頁撕下。
他怒斥詩詞是文人在宇宙運行的偶然結晶，怎可用X與Y軸定位價值，好似在測食物酸鹼值一般？威廉斯索性要全班學生將課本的前文整段撕下。他隨即拱一位最沒自信的學生上台，囑咐其朗誦一段屬於自己的詩。
但這位學生根本不認為自己的字句能登大堂，表情扭捏、不時語塞。於是威廉斯摀住學生眼睛，用暴力脅迫的語言挑釁他，這位學生進入緊張不安狀。威廉斯高喊著：「就是當下！不要思考、不要猶豫，將腦海中浮出的景象，豪不修飾的全數吐出！」
這位學生在高壓的情境下，不自主的突破防衛意識，當下織繪出赤裸又真實的詩句。威廉斯見狀立即蹲下雙手抱住身軀，感動的說：「不要忘記這片刻。」就是這片刻，是現代人持續遺忘的段落。呱呱墜地後，社會就教導著幼小心靈要聽話、要遵從、要追流行。但淡忘內心深處最赤裸的吶喊，忘了內在宇宙最缺點綴的直覺。
電影
《心靈訪客》 也呼應著，劇中知名作家教導黑人學生書寫的奧妙在於，不能靠腦筋寫，那是後來的事；首先，先用心將字打在紙上，之後再用大腦修飾成能溝通的語句。
其中原因就好比米開朗基羅的領悟，他說自己在雕刻大衛像時，雛型早在石頭中浮現。這塊大石原本就已是鉅作，它只是邀請雕匠將不必要的部位去除，大衛立即浮現。
《春風化雨》還有一橋段，為了展示學生天生具來的特性，威廉斯將其等引領至操場中，告知每個人都有個獨一無二的行走方式，軍隊式的行進能讓社會整齊劃一，但那不是真實的你。

威廉斯的《春風化雨》，是在告別人世的當下，唯一讓我能回憶完整內容的電影。雖然劇情的角色與這位喜劇泰斗的公眾自我南轅北轍，但在更深處卻是威廉斯喜劇表演的結晶。
不盲從、不修飾、不壓抑的三不政策，將一位福特員工之子帶入國際巨星之列；當大家都緊張著下一個流行樣板為何時，威廉斯始終不脫離他那個專屬的「死樣子」，就算別人不認同，那也是他們的損失。
畢竟，每個人生在這世上，不是要演別人喜歡的角色。否則這舞台，就會少了一位羅賓威廉斯。至於他是否憂鬱、酗酒、吸毒都已不重要。巨星的誕生，不在隕落前的剎那，而在耀眼的瞬間。
