        洗碗盤是討人厭的工作，但世上幾乎大部份的家庭主婦每天都必須花不少時間洗碗盤。雖然現在科學發達，機器代替了人工的時代，但這種洗碗的工作大部份還是需要人們親自動手去做。這一方面是機器不容易洗這容易破的各種碗盤，主要的還是因為機器不容易幫我們洗得乾淨。

        我們為什麼需要把食器洗乾淨？因為我們要裝一些乾淨，好吃，或很重要的食物。我們剛炒好了一盤很香很好吃的菜，我們願不願意把它裝在昨天用過而還沒有洗的骯髒盤子裏呢？我們一定不願意，寧可找一個舊的或不美卻是乾淨的盤子也不能裝在那骯髒的盤子裏。或者我們會先洗好了那盤子然後才裝。

        然而餵雞鴨的槽，我們一定不會抽那麼多時間去洗它，垃圾箱我們更不會像食器那樣用心的洗刷，為什麼呢？因為碗盤比那些東西更重要。為什麼重要呢？因為碗盤裏裝的東西比其他器皿所裝的更乾淨，更值錢或對生活更重要。

        我們是神的器皿，是磁器，是瓦器；是貴重的器皿，是卑賤的器皿，神都要用我們（羅九２１）。現在我們是宗教教育的教師，是小牧者，是神的工人，也就是神重要的器皿，不過，您如果是骯髒的貴器皿，真神仍不能用你，非得等你洗刷乾淨了，真神不能把最好的恩賜裝在您這髒器皿裏。您願意真神把更寶貴的恩賜源源的裝進您這器皿嗎？那就得好好下工夫洗刷一下。（提後二２１）說：「人若自潔，脫離卑賤的事，就必作貴重的器皿，成為聖潔，合乎主用，豫備行各樣的善事。」如果您是像餵雞槽，神對您的要求一定不會太高，因為您不是很重要的。如果您是神的工人，是神重要的工人，真神對您的要求可能就很高了，神一定要您洗刷得更乾淨，神還會幫您再用火烤一烤，徹底的消毒一下，連一點污點，一點看不到的細菌都不容牠留下。我們該怎麼潔淨自己成為貴重的器皿呢？

一．倒光剩餘的污穢

二．洗刷乾淨

碗盤，磁器，瓦器，倒光了裏面的東西，還要用刷子刷洗，這還不夠，還要用肥皂刷洗而使得它更乾淨。同樣的，一個信徒單倒光上面所說的污穢－身體的惡行－是不夠的，還要靠聖靈刷洗，使我們不但不去做上面所說的淫亂或一切污穢，貪婪的事，而且連題都不可以題，淫辭，妄語和戲笑的話都不相宜，總要說感謝的話頭（弗五３～４）。這是潔淨自己的第二步這樣刷洗後，器皿也相當乾淨了。

需要加以這種高溫消毒的是只有一些特別或重要的器皿，同樣的真神對祂特別重要的工人也會像這樣給予特別的訓練與熬煉，使他能更完全，合乎主用。經上（箴言十七３）：「鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金，惟有耶和華熬煉人心。」神給您的工作越重要，神對您的要求可能更高，而熬煉您也可能用更大的火－更大的痛苦，因為惟有經過這種熬煉的人，才能更深刻地認識神又懂得忍耐，節制，感謝，也往往在這種熬煉中才能學到謙卑，而這熬煉的最重要目的也可能是在這一點，就是學到真正的謙卑。

謙卑不是自卑感而是虛心，虛心接受別人的勸導或意見，不自高，不自滿。這些事說起來簡單，但做起來卻非常困難，因為我們的敵人魔鬼又常常要促使我們起驕傲的心，所以我們必須靠著聖靈，隨時克制這種情慾的發動，才能勝過牠而保持謙卑的心和態度。

四．裝上新的東西
